A beautiful rug can be designed especially for your floor at home or cottage. My technique and materials are suitable for area rugs, wall to wall carpeting, stair runners and art for the wall in residential and commercial settings where a beautiful, colorful, graphic statement is needed. Seamless widths up to 12', any length. Although I am most well known for my cotton rugs, I also weave wool rugs on a linen warp. Please inquire, they're beautiful!
Designs range from the very subtle, striated rug to the more geometrically patterned rugs. It all depends on the effect you need and the amount of money you wish to spend. Please view the preceding pages for ideas or contact me to see more designs.
Consider how bold or quiet you want the rug to be and how this relates to your surroundings. Matching colors is my forte - with wallpaper, paint, fabric samples in hand for reference, I create a color palette to complement your decor.
Prices on custom orders are within the range of $34 - $120 per square foot depending on the complexity of design. Special design or material considerations may be subject to a higher price.
Because many hours of care and consideration go into the design and weaving of a custom area rug, it is very important to me that you are completely satisfied. I want you to open the package, place the new rug on the floor - or the wall - and exclaim, “WOW! This is beautiful! This is exactly what I want!” For this result, we need to communicate. You may already have a clear idea of what you want for color and design; or, you may need suggestions from me. Either way is fine as long as you like it and I think it will work for you.
Size
Any size is possible - from a door mat to room size. Seamless widths are available up to 11 ‘6”, wider widths are seamed, x any length.
Design
There are many design ideas to consider such as a very subtle, striated rug to a design with varied geometric motifs such as stars, vertical and horizontal stripes, leaves, flowers, checks, diamonds and so on; in the center and on the border. Either simple or geometric can be equally wonderful; it all depends on how you wish to complement your decor. The more complex the pattern, the higher the price. Color
Consider how colorful or quiet you want the rug to be. Matching colors to your paint, wallpaper, upholstery fabric - anything! - is my forte. Simply send swatches for me for reference. Color possibilities are endless!
Material
I weave with quality cotton fabrics that I hand select and blend for your rug and an exquisite, strong, cabled cotton for the warp. For wool rugs I use a linen warp and rug wool in carefully blended colors.
Finishing
The edge of the rug may be fringed or bound in 2 styles.
Price
The prices range from $34 per square foot for either stripes or a striated effect; the geometric designs range from $38 per square foot for a distinctive border to $120 or more per square foot for complex designs. Please let me know if you have a budget and I can make design suggestions based on that information. Usually I can give an estimate over the phone or email if I know your size and design preference.
Pad
For comfort, safety, and durability, it is important to place a pad under your area rug. You may purchase one cut to size from me or contact your local carpet dealer.
Care and Cleaning
Vacuum or shake your rug frequently. Smaller rugs such as under 24 square feet may be easily washed in a washing machine on gentle cycle with cold water and a mild detergent. Dry flat, not in a dryer. If you prefer or if you have a large rug, call a reputable carpet cleaner who specializes in oriental rugs or dhurries or call me for a recommendation for an excellent local rug cleaner. All my rugs are available with a protective finish for protection from liquid spills or sun damage. Should your rug experience a broken thread, please call me immediately so that I may repair it.
Delivery or shipping.
I use the usual shipping and mailing companies. Very large rugs go common carrier. When feasible I will deliver for a reasonable fee.

Complete the form below with your questions, size and design considerations so I can give you a price estimate and tentative delivery date. If you need special design work done I will ask for a design deposit. I will create a drawing and a color swatch board to send to you for your approval. If you like it as is, return the design boards along with your deposit and I will schedule your job and begin weaving as soon as possible. When the rug is completed I will send you an invoice. And when you receive the rug, write to tell me how much you love it!
